VJP Media worked with Edinburgh International Magic Festival (MagicFest) for five years from 2011 to 2015. Using a strategic PR campaign to greatly enhance awareness, increase profile and build on the successes of the previous year, the campaigns communicated MagicFest embodied visual art/theatre of the highest caliber and was firm fixture in the Scottish festival calendar.
Targeting the media at large, the campaigns focused on key consumer, lifestyle and entertainment press, TV and radio. VJP Media demonstrated MagicFest’s passion for, and excellence in magic by promoting the different elements of the festival including the magicians, Magic School and Lafayette Award, capturing the public’s imagination and promoting the art of magic.
Highlights: MagicFest doubled its audience year on year, enjoyed sell-out opening nights, welcomed the Cabinet Secretary for Culture and External Affairs Fiona Hyslop and saw twice as many children attend Magic School.
Results: Annual coverage resulted in 160 plus quality articles and features across national and regional newspaper titles, broadcast and quality magazines including The Sunday Times, National Geographic, Daily Record, Herald, Scotsman, STV and BBC.
